Case Study # 2

Case study on how cors, Inc provided recruiting support for a global health care group.

Problem:
A global health care group client with more than 100,000 employees and hundreds of locations throughout the United States required recruiting support for a large number of highly skilled Clinical Manager and Nursing positions.  The opportunities were a combination of current and expansion openings located in eight states, which included twelve California locations, six Arizona locations, six Texas locations, three New Mexico locations, two Oregon locations, two Washington locations, and one location each in Missouri and Oklahoma, respectively.  The client’s existing hiring practices relied solely on attracting active candidates.  The client had allocated a large recruitment-advertising budget annually to generate interest for their hiring pipeline.  Results from this approach were inconsistent and largely ineffective.  Although the client had a solid reputation and had established a credible position in the marketplace, they were experiencing ongoing issues with timely filling of open positions.  In addition, most of their target audience of experienced potential candidates was not actively seeking a change from their current employer.  Hence, the return on investment for the recruitment-advertising budget was less than forecast, and successful hiring activity in several geographic areas was at a near standstill.

Implementation:
cors, Inc was contracted by the client to provide Clinical Manager and Nursing candidates for specific city locations.  cors targeted passive candidates already working in the marketplace and brought the client’s value proposition and opportunity directly to these professionals.  During the course of the engagement, cors effectively matched local candidates with local openings as well as candidates who were interested in relocation to other available opportunities.  Qualified, interested candidates were immediately routed to respective hiring managers for next steps in the hiring process.

Results:
cors’ targeted approach to reach out to passive candidates yielded an immediate, robust candidate flow.  The client was extremely pleased with the quality and efficiency of cors’ processes.  Despite the specialized requirements and experience for the open Clinical Manager and Nursing positions, cors was able to provide the client’s hiring manager with a diverse, qualified candidate pool for each specified city.  cors’ research-driven business model quickly matched candidates with appropriate local or relocation opportunities.  As a result of the engagement with cors, the client was able to fill openings that had been open for several months, create an immediate viable candidate pipeline for hiring managers, reduce cost-per-hire, and capture an expanded market share.
